Billing Coordinator

Atheria Law was founded on October 1, 2019, as a modern law firm dedicated to representing global insurance and reinsurance clients. Our team has broad experience representing insurers in all lines of insurance, with a focus on professional liability and technology, privacy, and cyber insurance policies. We have primary offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, with attorneys in Atlanta, and London, and plans for further growth.

Our San Francisco office is seeking a full-time Billing Coordinator to assist the finance team with accounting and finance tasks. This position will report to the Director of Finance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform various clerical activities in the finance department, including data entry, information verification and invoice generation
  • Generate and maintain WIP reports 
  • Responsible for all aspects of billing, including electronic and PDF submissions
  • Compile, compute, and record billing, accounting, statistical, and other numerical data for billing purposes
  • Maintain and apply client rate agreements
  • Review of client billing guidelines 
  • Check the accuracy of invoices by reviewing client agreements
  • Run reports for management and conducts research to aid in the investigation of billing discrepancies
  • May be responsible for responding to client inquiries regarding billing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of law firm billing
  • A high level of proficiency using MS Office, including Excel
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Centerbase, Elite, and Clio a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
  • Comfortable with math and calculations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

Work Location and Hours:

While Atheria supports flexible working arrangements, including remote work, we believe that in order to optimize our employees gaining experience, working as a team and best servicing our clients, in-person interaction is important.  At this time, unless otherwise agreed upon, this position requires in-office attendance every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, or as otherwise needed, during regular business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Remote work on Fridays.

The expected annual salary for this position is $70-85,000.
