Matthias Kuznik
Senior Counsel
Based in England, Matthias advises insurers in relation to claims and losses under cyber liability, technology, media, intellectual property and professional liability policies. Bilingual in English and German, Matt’s instructions frequently involve international, multi-jurisdictional elements. Prior to joining Atheria Law, Matt gained extensive expertise in coverage and defence matters across a spectrum of risks, including with respect to directors & officers, financial lines, and warranty & indemnity policies. He also took an early interest in intellectual property and information technology, including initial digital currency, renewable energy technologies and virtual multimedia platforms.
Matthias is a solicitor of England and Wales (2010) and also admitted in the Republic of Ireland (2016). He holds a Bachelor of Laws in Law with German Law from the University of East Anglia (Honours), including study at the Humboldt University of Berlin, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn (2005).
Outside of work, Matthias enjoys spending time with family, reading, and takes keen interest in many forms of art ranging from music, film, and writing to theatre, having also been a lecturer and adviser to artists on copyright and contract law as part of an international law firm’s pro bono scheme for many years.
