The Mid-Market Report: At Atheria Law, Diversity Is ‘More Than Checking Off Boxes’
Atheria Law was featured in Law.com’s The Mid-Market Report on October 28, 2020 in a Q&A discussion with Atheria’s President, Christina Terplan. Questions focused on the trends shaping the legal market, competition in the law firm space, attracting and retaining new talent, innovation and legal technology, and succession planning.
When asked about what sets Atheria apart, Christina explains, “The biggest opportunities for Atheria Law are our sustained ability to attract and retain top tier talent and to expand our client base beyond the historical limits of the large law firm model.”
Addressing the firm’s commitment to diversity, Christina says, “We truly believe our diversity and respect for our employees differentiates our firm and we understand that creating a diverse and inclusive workplace requires more than checking off boxes. A commitment to diversity requires active participation from the leadership and across the firm.” This commitment is demonstrated in the numbers: the firm is majority women-owned and more than 50% of the attorneys and staff are women, people of color, LGBTQ+, or identify as belonging to one or more underrepresented groups.
