Atheria Law Renews Participation in Mansfield Rule Certification

Atheria Law is proud to reaffirm our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal industry by confirming our participation in Mansfield Rule Certification for 2024–2025. As a majority women-owned firm, diversity is not just an objective but a foundational principle of our firm.

The firm achieved Mansfield Plus Certification status in 2024, underscoring our dedication to expanding the opportunities for historically underrepresented lawyers to be elevated to leadership positions.

In the five years since our founding in 2019, we have made significant strides in enhancing the transparency and accessibility of our advancement processes, ensuring that every individual at our firm has a fair and equal opportunity to rise to leadership roles. At Atheria, diversity and inclusion are more than just goals — they are core values that shape the way we work, serve our clients, and contribute to our communities.

Our DEI Committee plays a crucial role in this mission by identifying five organizations annually to receive monthly financial contributions. Each organization focuses on a different strand of diversity, such as ethnicity, disability, social mobility, neurodiversity, gender, and more. This ongoing support reflects our deep commitment to fostering diversity not only within our firm but also in the broader community.

In 2024, we introduced a new DEI and pro bono hours credit policy, allowing our attorneys to receive billable credit toward their minimum hour requirements for dedicated DEI and pro bono efforts. We believe that building a diverse and inclusive workplace requires more than words; it demands measurable action.

Beyond our internal efforts, Atheria is dedicated to extending its vision of diversity and inclusion into the community and the legal profession. In 2023 and 2024, we hosted “Atheria Shadow Day” for students from University of San Francisco, most of whom are the first in their families to attend college. The firm provides training programs, and each student was paired with a mentor who continues to offer guidance and includes them in events throughout the year.  Based on the tremendous response from the students and our attorneys, we plan to continue hosting Atheria Shadow Day for many years to come.

Our individual attorneys also actively participate in organizations that encourage diversity within the law and business communities, including the California Minority Counsel Program, the Asian American Insurance Network and the Business Insurance DEI Annual Conference.

We are excited to continue to be part of the Mansfield community, and we look forward to driving meaningful change within our firm and beyond. By embracing diversity in all its forms, we are better equipped to serve our clients and create lasting positive impacts in the communities we serve.
